Default Finally Got a Hobby Truck

I am almost 70, retired, and have driven pickups since 1983. But I always had to buy one as a daily driver and to do other duties. For example I owned a large house for 12 years that was heated with wood. So I had a full size heavy-half to haul my wood.

Now retired I bought a truck "just because"..I wanted one.

In 1983 I wanted a Ranger-but they were all new. And this young married guy with a new house could afford....nothing. I test drove a Ranger that year, vinyl floor, manual windows and of course 2 whl drive. Loved it, could not buy.

So I went looking as a retiree and found a 2006 Sport, SuperCab (4 door) Vulcan engine, with 60k miles and very clean. Very clean. And my vinyl floor, manual windows.

I am happy and content

Old3.0Guy, I have a similar story. Last truck owned was a 74 Courier. Manual everything, vinyl floor, 4 cylinder. Not a heavy duty truck, but it did what it had to do. That was over 30 years ago. This past December I decided it was time to get another truck as the kids are moved on. Picked up an 09 Ranger white work truck. Much like the old Courier, it is manual everything, 4 banger, and a vinyl floor. Just as slow as the Courier and rides like it, too. Makes me very happy indeed.

Got you beat. I'll be 70 in July and want one too. You couldn't give me one of these new trucks you need a step ladder to just get in the cab or reach or put something in the bed anymore. What's wrong with these engineers today. Some people want to actually use the truck, not just a He Man status symbol
Not everybody needs the big stuff.

Sounds just like what I want. I have an old 87 Chevy with a cap but would rather have one of these little Rangers since driving one at work last Summer. Don't need the big ones very often anyway.
Just retired my old VW Rabbit diesel I've been driving for 11 yrs and need another small older vehicle to not worry about getting a scratch on and reasonable on fuel.
