Where y'at Ranger Nation
What up comrades. I'm Chris, 29, from South Louisiana (New Iberia) two hours due west from New Orleans. My work as a Petroleum Landman keeps me riding across the great state of LA. With this economy and un-certainty these days, I'm not gambling on a new FX4 (at least I can't) any time soon. So, I'm getting back into building baby! My previous truck, Ol' Red, was one bad Ranger 4x2 (details in sig, below). After I sold it (sad, sad day) I purchased this incredible 1996 F-150 which was built in Houston. Cherry, Maroon with silver bottom, 13" of LIFT on 38.5" Swampers. 351 Windsor w/ all Motorsport parts, I then removed all restrictions by literally just torching off the cats. Sold it after I rolled it. Thats right, another depressing day. But gas was so high then I was trying to sell at time. So finally, back to my current 2004 Ranger Tremor 4x2. Bought it new then and still runs like the wind today after 142,000 miles. The Pioneer System is still unbelievable. I listen 24/7 to hard hitting rock and I swear it has not changed in fidelity one bit, in six years! On the other hand, I have the worst riding Ranger in America. I've fooled around with this forever now. Have had the entire suspension system inspected in Shreveport, Lafayette, Mansfield, New Orleans, New Iberia, Morgan City, Mandeville, Natchitoches, to no avail. I'm telling y'all that every one of the shops in all of these cities came back with a different conclusion. Ball joints upper and lower in one, to sway bar hangar bushings, to tie-rods, to rear shocks, etc... So ----
Through all the people I meet in my line of work, I meet one who builds mud drag racing Chevys. And this in addition to the UNBELIEVABLE amount of women who love lifted trucks, has me on the hunt for a low dollar (Obama era) lift kit. Don't mean to get political but just put on CNN and remember I'm down in New Orleans along with every friend of mine holding advanced petroleum industry jobs or simply fishermen. I NEED TO FIND AN EXCELLENT PRICED 3.5" TO 5.5" SPINDLE LIFT KIT for a brand new set of 31x10.5x16 BFG A/T I just got at the deal of a lifetime from the gentleman I was speaking of earlier (drag trucks). My current budget and after a tremendous loss in the 2008 crash has kept me from doing this, but damnit its time. I build one BAD Ranger so if anyone knows of which direction I should look, I will certainly be grateful.
INTENTION: 3.5 to 5.5" suspension lift with or without upper control arms. Will turn torsion bars if necessary to COMPLETELY ELIMINATE any sag. 31x10.5 BFG's (practically given to me) will be mounted on Ford factory 2004 XLT Tremor alluminum alloys, the stock wheels. They are sharp and I'll customize them by painting the gray inset, black. Mirrors, door handles, tailgate handle, wipers, air-dam or bumper curtain, and honeycomb grill will be painted (color matched) black instead of gray plastic. Ford Emblem to be blacked out (painting over blue) and same to Ranger emblem on sides. Want to add what Lund used to call a "Moon Visor" the rounded version to fit lines of Ranger and possibly the black background projector head lights. Probably remove the Tremor/Edge chrome nerf bars and want to find the new slimmer ones, black with the dropped hoop under door.
Currently I have black windows, lot of factory jam (which is still incredible), series 40 Flowmasta. Time to make it HAPPEN.
Appreciate it, Who Dat, and hit me up with whom I should contact or any suggestions, questions. Thanks again.
