Red face Another new guy from MD

Hello fellow Ranger fans! I'm the former owner of two Ford Rangers. My first was an '87 XLT long bed regular cab with the 2.9L engine 2wd 5 speed. I couldn't kill that truck if I tried. I finally let it go after 200+ thousand miles on the odo. My second Ranger was a '92 extended cab XLT with the 4.0L V6 and auto transmission. She was a 2wd as well. I ended up giving her away to my son for 500 bucks (he later fell asleep at the wheel and flipped it in a residential neigborhood-he wasn't injured, but he killed the truck ).
I currently own a '96 Dodge Dakota SLT extended cab 4wd 5 spd V8. She's been good to me, but since gas prices are knocking on $3/gallon again, I'm ready for something more economical.
That's where a Brand new Ranger XLT extended cab 5 speed 2wd WITH a 2.3L four banger would come into play. From what I'm to understand, this is the last year for Ranger production? I'm running outta time!!

Anyway, excuse the long winded intro and thanks for reading my virgin post!!

Welcome to the forum, Shafe! Yeah, it's time for another Ranger!
The newer Dakotas are ugly to me, but '96 was a good year for that truck.

Welcome to FRF! They keep saying they are going to stop the Ranger but it still keeps coming. Hopefully they do not get rid of it. I think with gas prices they will keep it around, seeing as it is the last compact truck on the market. That new duratech 2.3 is a real good engine too.
