Default New to the Forum, SAS in the works.

So I'm new to the forum community, but I know a fair amount about rangers and 73-79 pick ups. I've got a 2007 Ranger XLT 4x4, 4.0 SOHC and auto trans, 170k miles on it with absolutely no modifications besides fresh tires and a few packs of little trees. That's about to change because I'm getting tired of taking the bypasses on all the cool-kid stuff on the trails.

LONG STORY SHORT
I'm gonna build a half overlander and half rock crawler type truck. SAS, 4" lift, gear reduction, locked up and some 35's with a camper shell, front winch and a bumpin sound system. Should be fun. The goal is to complete the rubicon and the dusy ershim trails.

LONG STORY... LONG?
A couple months ago I found a disc brake 44 out of an early bronco on craigslist and though "what the hell? lets SAS the daily " So I drove up to NorCal and paid $700 for a $400 axle. WAYYY over budget right from the get go, but you have to pay to play right?? It just so happens that I have an explorer 8.8 and some used 35" KM2's sitting underneath the shade tree, so they'll find their way under my ranger eventually as well.

If I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it once. Linked up front, 4" lift springs or 63's in the rear. Looking for a semi-low COG build, even if it means cutting some fenders. I've just never been one of those guys into the "jacked up trucks". I'll get around to an atlas transfer case and some ARB lockers, but I've got a lot more shit that needs to be done before I can even think about saving up that $6000 plus drivelines...

Well, I'm super excited to start on this thing, just placed the order for all the parts I need to finish building my d44 and will start working on that as soon as they come in from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard. I'll be posting pictures somewhere, maybe here, maybe another thread? Anyways stayed tuned to see a pretty cool lil mountain rig be built from absolute stock to absolute bad ass mall crawler

Sounds like a good start. You should start a build thread and we like pictures.

If you are hunting for any parts for the front axle you can also look at wild horses 4x4 and toms bronco parts.

I am definitely going to start a build thread, just haven't found where on this site yet. Is there a specific place where build threads are listed?
