Default New Here! Intro and questions

Hi, I'm from San Antonio, TX, I'm a former soldier, IT student and gi bill enthusiast, I do jiu jitsu, mma and read for fun. More relevant to being here though, I have a 2000 Ranger that I want to turn into a serviceable car again, or perhaps do something fun with.

It is having electrical issues in the dash that stem from some ass hole smashing my dome light while robbing me, and from some other ******* hitting my driver headlight area.

After these things happened I drove my Mazda and regrettably let my beloved Ranger sit for a bit. It's now been sitting for like a year, I put a new battery in it and it cranks but won't start, some cursory reading on the internet leads me to believe it to be a fuel pump issue.

I was a mechanic in the army, so I'm familiar with working on vehicles, but have never worked on a civilian vehicle or a gas vehicle, so I'm a little bewildered about where to start.

Any advice people have would be super welcome, if theres someone in the area I could strong arm (or bribe lol) into working with me that would be awesome.

Thanks ya'll!

David, welcome to FRF. If you think it is the fuel pump first thing to do is check the fuel pressure, then check for spark.
