Default I want to learn

I've owned my 2003 xlt 2.3 for about one year now and I want to use my truck as a way to learn more about mechanics and modification. I have just the very bare bones knowledge about auto mechanics. I'm on this forum to get to know my truck more and upgrade it.

Hi and welcome.

If you really want to learn about your truck and how to work on it then modify it.

I highly suggest the very first thing you purchase is a factory service manual or a online subscription to Alldata or Mitchell ondemand.

A manual will give a description on how systems on your truck are supposed to work and will be needed when you want to repair it. Online subscriptions will also give you access to
TSBs ( technical service bulletins ) which are updates in service procedures or parts.

A relevant TSB can save you a lot of time money and frustration.

My only other suggestion is to learn how a system you may want to modify on your truck is supposed to work, confirm it is working properly before you modify it.
