Default New Guy

Hey Y'all, New to the Forum. I'm here to look around and see what other people got going on. I've had my ranger for a long while now but never thought to join up on a forum to see what others are doing and how they fix problems I'e run into over the years. My Ranger is sitting at 268,500 miles as of a 6/15/17 still going strong. Only one engine rebuild since 120k but looking at getting a second here soon. I also have a 86 Mazda b2000 that i sadly crashed recently due to failed brakes. Picked her up form an old guy who had her sitting. so she has a Whopping 42,000 miles on her 2.0 Car-berated motor. Shes the real reason i came on here. if i cant get her up a running, I'm looking at making her a desert truck. Thanks Y'all.

Welcome! Question. Why an engine rebuild @ 120K? These trucks are just getting broke in at that milage!

I ran into some trouble at 120k, something on the inside went hay wire and I threw a rod on number three, blew out my head gasket, and had all the oil just dump out. Im still not sure what happened to this day. I just decided to say screw it and start over. Since then shes been purring and rolling along with only a few hiccups that I have easily overcome with maintenance. I couldn't tell you what happened, all i know is my poor baby just decided to literally blow her brains out.

Bummer. You got a bad one, no doubt about that. My 97 4.0 had 188K when i got rid of it and the engine was the best part of that truck. All highway miles though, so that make a difference.
