I haven't been a posting member of a forum in a long time besides mainly reddit lurking. R/fordranger is fun but I love the more in depth stuff here. I live in remote west Texas, I bartend mostly for a living, but after volunteer firefighting for a while and completing Wilderness-EMT training I've just been hired as an EMT-FF for a department that serves the southern half of the largest county in Texas, bordering Mexico and serving much of the Big Bend National park. Woo!

I've owned my 2003 XLT 4wd extended cab for over a year and love it more every day. It was a salvage title due to being rear-ended, but the bed replacement looks perfect and I had a mechanic (who specializes in Fords so of course loves rangers) check it out and said it was great. I haven't done anything to it besides put a great camper top on the back. I bought it used and it is specific to the ranger so fits great, has screened sliding windows on the side, two small skylight windows, and only leaks a little where the rubber seals to the cab's back window which I intend to work on after I take it off and paint it to closer match the truck's midnight blue color.

It has 136,000 miles, I've put 22,000 on in the past year- driving between Oregon, Texas, and, Wyoming, and many 6 hour roundtrips from my town to El Paso, so mostly highway. Hitting the year mark, over 20k miles, and living in a remote area has me really thinking a lot now about getting serious about maintaining it myself. I want this truck to hit 250k (or more).
