Default New Guy from MD

Hey everyone, I'm Harry from Maryland. I hope to soon be the owner of a Ranger and am looking forward to learning a lot and contributing to what looks like a pretty great site. My Ranger will be my first truck, so here is to hoping it's a great experience.

Probably a 2000-. I want it to be a 4x4, still unsure as to whether I want a 5spd or Auto.

Welcome to the forum, best of luck shopping for a ranger, luckily for you used rangers don't hold a resale value

Welcome, Harry! You don't have to have a Ranger to be able to contribute, but I hope you get one soon!

I know I'm in the minority on this but I like my 5-speed auto trans just fine.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome! I am leaning towards agreeing with Jay FX4, my previous vehicle was a 5spd but I like the idea of an auto box in the truck. I won't be doing much off-roading, so I am leaning towards the auto for daily driver practicality. Any reliability issues with the autos? Time to search...

Our auto trans are good. The manuals tend to have slave cylinder issues.
