Hello from NC
Morning guys and gals, new guy here from NC (kinda between Charlotte and Greensboro).
Names Colton, mid 20s, work for the school system as a Head Custodian (stability, and good benefits) while also running my own personal business at home doing vinyl decals and etched glass (I like to focus on the glass, everyone does vinyl lol). Had an 89 Ranger when I was 16/17, decided I wanted to pick up another one so I bought this beauty off the side of the road for $600. However, it's getting oil in the coolant (but oddly, no coolant in the oil). It's a 1988, 2wd, 2.3l with a manual trans. And, it looks completely original as far as I can tell. Planning on doing a restoration on it to have a nice, clean truck to drive. Not going whole hog. Pulling the engine this weekend (getting my tags today) and putting all new gaskets on it. Going ahead and doing the timing belt and water pump too since I'll have the engine out. See if the gasket kit solves my oil/coolant issue. Also do a manual inspection of everything since it's apart. Used to work on cars for a living, love the simplicity and ruggedness of these 2.3s. And now that I have my own personal 1200sq ft garage, I figured it was time for another project.
