New to Fords
Hello all, this is my first experience with a Ford. I recently bought a used 1999 Ranger, reg cab, plain vanilla to replace a 2500 series GMC that I used towing a 5th wheel camper. Sold the camper, no need for the GMC.....time to downsize.
Still getting familiar with it, I bought it in a derelict state and am in the process of getting the engine back on its feet. 2.5 liter 4 cylinder, exhaust valve seats pushed up into the head, very rough running, no power. A rebuilt head should fix that problem and I am just a few hours from completing the repair. Looking forward to exchanging information/ideas on this forum and think I am going to like this vehicle very much.

welcome, rather than put a lot of money in an underpowered 4 banger why not install a 4.0 or go all out and drop a 5.0 in it? I have a 3.0 and it runs fine, but if something happens, it will be a 5.0 going in.
