Whatup folks! Great site - glad you're out here, I've learned a lot from you already.
I'm in my 30s, and a music teacher by training and trade. My primary interest in the forum is keeping my 1995 Ranger Splash running forever. It has just over 238k miles on it, and it's a constant struggle to convince my wife that it's worth keeping, even though it's never failed on us. I've never had to replace/repair anything significant, although that won't be the case much longer, I bet. Regular maintenance, and a new master cylinder and PCV along the way, and she still turns over every morning. This was my first vehicle, and it's the only vehicle that's ever belonged just to me, so it's definitely my baby.
I haven't modified to any extent, aside from the Leer liner and hard cover we had installed when I first got it. The cover is history, but the liner is still around, hiding rust I'm sure. Gotta rip it off soon so I can lift the bed and get to that pesky filler neck, which has gone bad.
For that matter, I've never worked on it myself until recently - I never had the tools or the know-how. But as it ages, I am taking a more active interest in prioritizing the work that needs to be done, and in doing that work as affordably as possible. That's where you all come in.
It needs transmission work, and a good thorough tune-up, in addition to some pretty significant aesthetic work, so I'll probably be posting questions in related forums and threads. Thanks again for your presence and guidance - I've saved $$ and time already!
