Smile introduce nyself

hello everyone my name is Randolph, I am in fort worth texas and I have a customized 1999 ford ranger pickup. I have joined because my current project addition to my pickup is to install a narrowed and shortened chromed jaguar irs rear end. so far it looks to be quite challenging and the road ahead may be choppy I suspect. but with sound advice and hopefully helpful tips from the expertise of other ford ranger owners my truck and this welcome addition will become a success. looking forward to all the help I can get if you can assist by way of guidance. many thanks in advance....Randolph...

Welcome to FRF Randolph.

curious, are you going to have to run in 4 wheel drive once this project is done? I don't have any knowledge of a jags rear suspension but I would think it to be very difficult to have a RWD truck with no rear axle.. hopefully not the case and you figure it all out. would be an interesting project to keep tabs on.

start a build thread dedicated to this truck, that will give everyone a dedicated location to find it/ offer help, and PICTURES. WE LOVE THEM.

EDIT: ha, read again and you would still have a rear axle. disregard me, I really know nothing of Jags. welcome to site though.

Thanks for your early input FX4 Nathan. I will set up that build thread as soon as. The Jag rear axle I fell in love with while stationed in the U.K. [Scotland} with the U.S. Navy from 1982 thru 1985, where they seem to be most popular. I plan to locate the Jag axle in motion on one of the custom car sites so I can use a reference to send people who have never seen one of these little Diamond gagets while turning, and let them get a first hand look at one . WHAT A SIGHT. Very hypnotic. Its like looking at one of those clocks that lets you see all the insides as it tick tocks thru its time cycle. All those cogs ,springs and inner parts working togather. Something to see I gotta say. I will pass the info on as soon as I locate a site that demonstrates the Jag axle motion. And many thanks for the welcome message....Randolph...

And I really gotta do my thinking thru on this rear end swap before I lay hands on it. I got questions to run past the experts on the forum as well . So it looks like I will be sorting these out in the new year. Looking forward to getting to know all or most of all the Ranger Riders an drivers. Have yourself a super holiday season and a safe one 2. ..Randolph..

My skills on posting photos and messages is finding its way thru but slowly. I should have my ducks in a row as time wears on. In the mean time, keep an eye out , as I will be catching up on my postings during the Christmas break.
