GRMCRKRS from Alabama w/ '96 Ranger XL -new member
Hey guys, I'm new of course, introducing myself. I'm into forums, and learning, and communities of enthusiasts and I think it's fun to join when I get a new car.
I run a Cell Phone Repair shop in Alabaster, Alabama and I'm 30ish. This Ranger I just bought (11/22/15) is my first truck ever. I've always owned a car, convertible, station wagon, or SUV.
The '96 Ford Ranger XL automatic I bought is pretty dusty, has a camper shell/work top on the bed with two back doors instead of a tailgate and 1 long side door on each side. It has some paint missing in spots, some dents, and has an issue shifting or maybe something related to shifting. It also feels like it should have more power, and when I give it gas all the way it doesn't even rev hard like I expect, it just goes about is merry little way slowly picking up speed.
I plan on fixing the brakes first, the tune up second, the shifting/transmission issue next, and somewhere in between I'll being putting running lights, bed lights, long brake light strip, ham radio installed, amp and sub installed, and cb installed with antennas.
The good things about the truck are the camper top, the tires, suspension, all lights working, glass uncracked, and a FREAKING TRUCK BED to haul stuff in when I want to!!

Just bought a '96 Ford Ranger, a work truck. It's a bit beat up, and needs some TLC, but I'm gonna give it some love.
