New guy from New England
Hey guys, Im from Mass and RI. Mass being my home and RI for school. I just recently bought a used ranger. I don't know much about the models or anything but its the 4 banger i have seen people say its a 2.3 2.4 and a 2.5 (which is it?)
5 speed, and it has low miles for considering its a 2000. I like it alot way more than the 00 Dodge Dakota sport I had before. I am mechanically inclined and have already given it a tune up and all that good stuff. Took it off roading for hunting and for a 2 wheel drive it sure can hold it's own. I hope to learn some good stuff from you guys and contribute when I can.

Welcome to FRF! As far as I know it is either a 2.3 or 2.5. I am leaning more towards the 2.3 though.

Welcome to the forum, looking up 2000 ranger on the EPA ratings shows only a 2.5 I4. Although it's possibly they simply didn't test the 2.3 engine, but sounds to me like the 2.5 was the only option then.

D'oh you're right, 2.5 Lima for you! The 2.3 Duratech did not come out till after 2000. And the 2.3 OHV was rid of in 98.
