Default Howdy from College Station!

Howdy! My name is Michael, and I am the proud owner of a brand-new-to-me '96 Mazda B2300! It's made it's way around our circle of friends here, and now it's come to me after my 4Runner got smashed in an accident.

I'm a software developer, and I live south of town with my wife and two kids. When I'm not wrenching on the latest beater in my possession to keep it going so I can get to work and back, I like to play board games with my wife and friends, work in the garden, strum the ol' six-string, and be a jungle gym for my kiddos.

I really only need to keep this thing running for about a year or so until we're ready for another kid and need to upgrade my wife to a van, at which point I'll take over her Corolla. I don't have anything major planned for the truck, just regular maintenance, since it'll probably just go to another friend in need when I'm done with it. However, if I start to get attached...
  • front left fender got smashed by an elk
  • bench seat is completely collapsed on the driver's side
  • the underbody is plagued by surface rust
  • neither the odometer nor the gas gauge work
  • there's some surface rust and the paint is terrible, so I may rattlecan the whole thing
  • maybe a BellTech drop kit, just 'cuz
Looking forward to getting to know y'all over the next year!
