Default Hello from Nebraska! Just got my first ranger!

Just bought my first ranger today. It's a 2003 XLT 4.0 with 87k, great shape, picked it up for $6800. Just yesterday I sold my 1967 ford F100 that I restored. I have been wanting a ranger for awhile now and this one was perfect for me so I jumped on it. Looking forward to learning from this forum! Only 17 years old and I am located in good ole' Lincoln, Nebraska!

Welcome to FRF! I need to take a ride in 1 of the newer rangers. I think the newest one I have ever ridden in was a 94. I myself own an 83 and I absolutely love it. Best find I have had so far (especially considering it was free). I have had plenty of cars and thankfully none of them ever got totaled. None of my previous cars make me as happy as my ranger. I actually find myself not abusing it because I want it to last. My truck is actually older than me by a few months but built the same year I was born. Kudos on your find as that's really not a bad price for the year and mileage you have on yours. How does the 4.0 run? I used to want to do the 5.0 swap but realizing how reliable my current engine can be (2.3L) I am going to stick with it and possibly turbo it after a rebuild later on down the road. Seems like the 5.0 is not economical considering gas prices. I used to own an 87 Lincoln Towncar with a 5.0 and although it was nice. it was costing me more in gas then anything else. Didnt help the gas gauge didnt work and boy will I tell you. good luck pushing it to the gas station lol.

Sounds a good score with fairly low mileage and neat looking truck, nice!
