Hey guys just got a 2000 Standard Cab Ford Ranger equipped with a 4 cyl and a 5spd. Its got 101,xxx miles on it and later today im going to be shopping for a camper shell. Any suggestions on what brand to look for, I'm looking for one used.

I was also wondering if its possible for 09 taillights to fit on my model, I like the look of those taillights better than the ones I have now.

Bought my shell on craigslist. Definitely check there first, shouldn't have to pay more than $300 for a used one on there. Mine is not color matched, but I can paint it for cheaper than a new one. New ones usually start around $900 or so.

I am from so. california, unfortunately the truck is 2wd and its a 4cyl so I can't have too much fun with it.

I been looking on craigslist but can't find anything, I don't care if its colormatched either because I got this car for free.

Where in SoCal are ya? I can check some of the craigslists as well as other sites. What price range are you lookin at?

I live in the Costa Mesa area in Orange Co. I already got a shell earlier today, its not colormatched so w/e its a snug top but once I'm done with the truck which could be in October I will be selling the shell.

Does anyone know if 09 taillights will fit an 2000?

Does the 2000 have the 3 bulb set-up like 99? If so, you could either cut a hole in the new light for the 3 bulb or convert to a 2 bulb set-up.

I'm not exactly sure, it turns out the 09 ones werent the ones I'm looking for. I searched for other year tail lights and they're still not the ones I'm looking for. I could have sworn I've seen Ranger taillights that look like the new Ford Escape tail lights.

Sorry to say, but yes you are crazy. The 06+ are the only ones close to those. I have actually seen some that are aftermarket and extremely hard to find that are clear, red, clear stack.

Darn, I like the style of those taillights, my taillights look like these



So you think 09s can fit that? Lol, I know it may seem kind of odd that I want these but I like to modify my cars very subtle-y, even if its just my truck for work.

They look like they have an angle to them and the others are more strait up and down. I don't think it will fit with the body correctly and look "subtle" with out some major reconstruction of the rear of the truck, although I am sure it's possible to make them fit - but just not cleanly. IMO, I would try and hunt down some clear tails if they make them for that model year.
