Default New from so-cal

Hi, my name is Mike, I'm from southern california and I have a 94 ranger. It is greyish silver. Nothing special just a commuter and little work truck. Sorry but currently I dont have any pics.

Temecula, for now. Um really idk for anything special, I really just bought it to commute in cuz it had a v6 and it was a ford. But I got some problems I need to sort out first.

under heavy to WOT it wont shift unless I lift. It is a 94 4.0 automatic. Its like it is hitting a speed limiter, until you lift off the gas then it will shift and you can get back on it until it needs to shift again, which you then have to lift again to make it shift. It is weird because it does it in every gear. The Transmission is rebuilt by me about 4-5 months ago and it has had this problem since I bought it (needing a tranny, so I never got to drive it before I built the tranny). However I am fairly certain the tranny is sound. I have already replaced the computer, cleaned the maf, replaced the cat, bought a new coil pack and now I just dont know.

I am half debating throwing in a chevy 5.3 from a 2002 silverado I picked up for cheap, but a chevy engine in a ford idk

Welcome to the forum, quiet a few so-cal members signing up here lately

Not sure about your issue, you might want to create a new thread about it since the introduction section is overlooked by some of the more knowledgeable users.

Regarding the Chevy engine in a ford, checkout:
