Default hey there

New to the forum - and as recomended, introducing myself

I'm older than dirt and have owned four pickups over the past 25 years. I am an engineer of some sort (the discipline changes as often as my underwear), but the basics of the job are electric generators driven by reciprocating diesel or gas engines. I have too many hobbies to list or even enjoy properly - looking forward to retirement so I can spend more time on them

I currently own a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge with the 4.0L SOHC engine. It is a factory stock vehicle and the only thing I plan to do with it is maintain it. As it is getting on in years (kind of like its owner) and has about 175k miles on it, there will be a few projects necessary in the near future.

John, welcome to FRF. I am with you on the "looking forward to retirement" thing as I have a few more years to go before I can think hard about it.

I have a 2000 Ranger 5 speed manual with 236,000 miles. I love the truck but need help with a leak in the tranny I found a small puddle of fluid looks to be in between the engine and tranny. Any ideas were to start? How do I add fluid or check it ?
