Thumbs up Need help finding threads.

Hello, just thought I'd stop in and tell you why I'm here. Im currently in the process of building a drift truck out of a 1997 Mazda b4000 SE. Its the 2wd 4.0 litre model ( I don't care what you think, im being original. If you have nothing good to say please dont post ) and I have a few questions about some mods or where to find threads if there is any.
1) transmission swap- looking for a thread regarding an auto to manual trans. swap for a 97 b4000
2) I need to figure out a way to gain some better steering angle so if anybody has seen a thread or knows anything please fill me in.
3) Considering my e-brake is cable pull ( foot pedal ) , is it possible to mount a hand brake lever from a car and just find a cable that is long/short enough to fit? Or custom make a cable from like 1/8" aircraft cable or something along those lines.
( I have a hand brake mechanism from a 2002 kia spectra that I think I should be able to adapt to work )
That is what the handle looks like. That curved piece on the side is where the cable sits, and a nut went on the top of the cable thus pulling it tight and adjusting the tension on the cable.

** THIS TRUCK IS BEING BUILT FOR THE TRACK SO I DONT CARE HOW GHETTO IT LOOKS, YET ON THE SAME PAGE IM TRYING TO DO IT AS LEGIT BUT CHEAP AS POSSIBLE **

I think the M5OD (Manual Trans Option in Rangers of your year) is a terrible choice for a drift truck. You might want to consider a 5.0/other 5-speed trans swap in your truck to get both power and a stout transmission.

Question Re: Need help finding threads.

I'm going to run it the way it is after I do the manual swap until i fry it then I will deal with it. Is there any other trans that mount to the 4.0 litre or is that the only option without having to do a complete engine/trans swap? If its my only option looks like I'll be slaying transmissions and clutches until i can afford a better motor/trans combo.

Yea, that's your only option, especially if you're on a budget.

The problem is the long throw that the M5OD has. It's like rowing a boat.

Ahh, that's crappy but it is what it is. If its just the long throw I don't have a problem with that. Something I'm going to have to deal with. I'll mostly only need 2nd and 3rd

Looking for Canadian aftermarket parts dealers. In search of a lowering kit and fuel cell. This damn exchange rate is killer, please let me know of any places. Thanks!
