Hello, just thought I'd stop in and tell you why I'm here. Im currently in the process of building a drift truck out of a 1997 Mazda b4000 SE. Its the 2wd 4.0 litre model ( I don't care what you think, im being original. If you have nothing good to say please dont post ) and I have a few questions about some mods or where to find threads if there is any.
1) transmission swap- looking for a thread regarding an auto to manual trans. swap for a 97 b4000
2) I need to figure out a way to gain some better steering angle so if anybody has seen a thread or knows anything please fill me in.
3) Considering my e-brake is cable pull ( foot pedal ) , is it possible to mount a hand brake lever from a car and just find a cable that is long/short enough to fit? Or custom make a cable from like 1/8" aircraft cable or something along those lines.
( I have a hand brake mechanism from a 2002 kia spectra that I think I should be able to adapt to work )
That is what the handle looks like. That curved piece on the side is where the cable sits, and a nut went on the top of the cable thus pulling it tight and adjusting the tension on the cable.
** THIS TRUCK IS BEING BUILT FOR THE TRACK SO I DONT CARE HOW GHETTO IT LOOKS, YET ON THE SAME PAGE IM TRYING TO DO IT AS LEGIT BUT CHEAP AS POSSIBLE **
