New Guy w/ question:
Thought I would knock out two items at once... Living in Allen, TX, I have a really nice '02 Range Edge with a 3.0L. My daughter drives it at College. When the younger one gets her license in '16, it will be passed down. When she finishes with it, I plan on driving it as long as my bones will allow. In other words, it is a keeper. My question concerns the oil pressure sensor. Is it the white connector that is immediately next to the transmission oil stick? I'm getting the flickering guage and intermittent lights, and reading the tech forum, this is probably the sensor. Thanks, Bob

Re: New Guy w/ question:
Bob, welcome to FRF. First thing I would do is pull the oil pressure sender & take a reading of the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge to make sure it is not an internal engine problem.

Welcome, light comes on when the gauge drops could also be a bad connector mine rotted out on my '99. However, on that engine oil pressure issues are a warning sign that the cam synchronizer is warn out and needs to be replaced. The oil pump is shaft driven. And when the synchronizer fails you will lose oil pressure.

That's a great idea, Mike. Do I have the right idea where the sensor is. If so, what a pain-in-the-*** location!

Re: New Guy w/ question:
I did a google search & it said it is in the back of the engine block behind the r/s cylinder head. See post #2 for a diagram. Oil Pressure Sender location
