Cutting tools. Welding tools. New driveshaft. New brake lines. New wiring harnesses. New exhaust. Really nice insurance company. Friend at DMV.

Knowing how to use the tools and do the job? Priceless.

Also you can check lmc and a couple other places used to sell street legal kits for the older trucks like the f150 my grandfather has one on his 84 f150 that was a factory long bed. Most insurance companies don't care a truck that old would be totaled in a wreck most likely anyway so they don't care. DMV won't really check either unless you tell them about it.

Alright gents, turns out the '87 was a flop he sold it out from under me before I could get to it. But now I have the chance to get into a '88 with the 2.3 manual. What would be the best motor to put in it with having minimal experience, keep in mind I'm looking for simplicity as well as having enough power to haul decent loads and pull a boat. Not worried about speed so much but decent pickup would be good. I need all the advice I can get. I was thinking a 3.0 but I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Or is there another thread you can refer me to for this same issue?
