Default 1996 Ford Ranger XLT Single Cab Stepside

Hello everyone, just bought a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT V6 3.0 cylinder Single Cab Stepside, Automatic, one owner truck with 136K miles on it. This truck has been well maintained and runs excellent. I have owned it for about 3 months and have had the oil changed and and had a tune up done. My question for the group is the radiator has a lot of rust in it and the overflow bottle is full of rust. I am wondering should I just have the radiator flushed and new coolant added or should I replace the radiator completely. The radiator is not leaking at the moment but I don't know that much about mechanics so I thought I would put my question to the group. I don't drive the truck much, I am partially handicapped and only use it to go to the Doctors and run errands around town. Any help with my question would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome. My radiator is in the same shape, full of rusty gunk. Guys at the shop said I should try a radiator flush but would probably need a new radiator. I did neither and tht was nearly a year ago. Truck runs fine and I get the oil changed every 3,000 miles where they add coolant as needed. So I don't know.
