Aloha from Hawaii. Ford Rangers rock. I live on the small island of Kauai and am the owner of a 92 Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0. That i bought new. It currently has 214,000 miles on it and is compleatly stock besides the Borla exhaust on it. I use this truck to go to work and tow a 19 ft. Grady White fishing boat. Toyotas outnumber the American trucks 3 to 1 here so I have a lot of fun defending our Rangers ( things like " I can make 2.5 toyotas from 1 Ranger" or " If a Toyota had to tow my boat for as many years as my Ranger did, it would only be a rust stain by now "). I am looking to buy a newer one now and am deeply saddened by Ford not making them anymore . Looks like I just have to find a good used late model to keep me happy. I have used this site to solve a few problems that I had and after working as a heavy equipment mechanic for 20 years, I feel that the dozers of the mid-sized trucks are the Rangers. I have been trying to find posts about the newer ones to see what problems they are having and am happy to see there are not much. I really like this forum with all the tech help so i decided to join. Hope Ford sees the light and decides to do a mid-size again. Tired of seeing the toyotas multiply like ****roaches.
