There are bigger restrictions. You can only flow as much as the worst part of the system. Still, the exhaust isn't the biggest problem here. I don't always agree with JP7, but really, unless you want the sound, an exhaust on a stock truck doesn't do much.

There are things you can do on the intake side, which while not affecting peak hp numbers, can modify the off-idle "feel". Ok, you can flame me now JP.

hah, alright i will do some researching around and eat my words if need be, which will probably happen...and I'm not saying that an exhaust system is worth dropping the money on if you don't want the sound, as I have seen many cases where you get worse gas mileage, and if you don't have enough restriction you will lose power.

let me fix.

If you don't have restriction at low rpm, you slow down exhaust speed and you lose torque

Cool. Well these are all good things you guys are sayin here. I guess my Ranger will have to do with out any engine or exhaust mods for now.

If I am going to drop a whack of cash on engine I'd like to have a diesel put in there and run a couple of stacks out the back. That would be worth it.

Anybody done that on here?
