Default Need more throttle!!!

ok so i have an 03 ranger and my gas pedal is really loose (cause of stretched cable, i believe) . id do the throttle cable mod but a 5 cent zip tie controlling my speed doesn't sound good to me. i was just curious you think ford/body shop could put a new throttle cable in and it would be fixed? also give a guess at a ballpark answer of cost for cable+install.
any suggestions?

If you get the dealership to install a new cable yes it will be fixed. It will also stretch again within a year or so. Couldn't tell you what it will cost.

The zip tie fix isn't going to present any risk to your safety or the reliability of the vehicle. It will also last longer than having the cable replaced as they tend to stretch a certain amount and then stop.

Just do the zip ties once or prepare to pay whatever it costs for a replacement every few years...

Just pull the pedal towards the seat and put zip ties on the extra cable that's left. Nothing bad can happen from it. I did it and it's nice to know that I have 100% full throttle now.

My bad.....LOL I was on a roll that day. A guy at Autozone asked me who was putting a water pump I was buying, on my Camaro. When I told him I was, he looked at me like I was crazy. I meant "woman" lol. Still haven't tried the zip tie on our Ranger yet.

Ive heard of people using a large yellow crimp connector for electrical on the throttle cable. Its been a long time since I did my throttle cable mod , so Im not sure how big the thing is on the end. But like I said, ive only heard of it being done, never seen it done
