Default Literal Arm that selects temperature is broken

This morning, I was moving the arm that selects the temperature of the A/C, and I heard something pop. Now, my A/C is stuck on the last temperature it was on, which is HOT. It's 100 degrees out, too, so it doesn't help.

Is there anyway to get the arm that you move to select temperature to work again? Is there anyway to completely disable A/C?

Thank you for your help guys!

Have you tried using a chop stick? Or something that can fit in there and won't break? I would atleast set it on cold or in the middle

Pop the knob off and take a picture. I have a couple of temporary fix ideas that might keep you cool until you can hit the junkyard this weekend.
