useless cupholders?
Its not really a technical question just wondering anyone else is having this issue. I can only have one cup in the cupholders because it will not go fully into 2nd gear with a cup in the left cupholder and it won't go fully into reverse with one in the right one. So I'm basically wondering if this is because of my body lift (bought it that way by the way) or did ford actually design it this way?

It was the same way when I had my 93. Ford design flaw. But then again back then drinks were much smaller!

Re: useless cupholders?
I figured. Sucks because if I have to back out of a parking spot I gotta switch it to the left and before I take off forward again switch it back to the right. Lol

Yeah its a pain in the dick but oh well. The bench seat trucks have the cup holders at the base of the stick shift I think. At least from what I've noticed.

The cupholder in my Tacoma fulled out of the dash, right over the stereo. Talk about a design flaw! Any bump would slosh my soda and splash down on the stereo faceplate. Got to where I never used it, just held my pop / coffee between my legs. Just like we had to do "back in the day".

Re: useless cupholders?
Mine are kind of useless too as they are right next to my leg so I can only use the one closer to the passenger seat. ( I sit wide)
So I bought one of these and attached it to the storage box area under my center console.
It works quite well when I have passengers with beverages, and when I don't, I store a bunch of misc. stuff. It's easily removable and no drilling is required which was a must for me.

Here is a single version but would require a vertical mounting spot where the other is horizontal
