take a hammer and tap the back of the drums. the brake froze up. tapping it will release it.

the way the brakes clamp, they hold tighter going forward than they do reverse. mine used to do it all the time, explorer rear ftw. no more problems.

no, the rear axle. that's where your e-brake runs. lay under the back of the truck, and tap the backside of the brakes. don't hit it hard, just a few light blows

me and my dad went to work on it. we took off tire/rim. then hammered the hub off but it was so hard to get off because the back brakes were pushing and holding it on. we couldnt fix it. the brake line moves when you push the break and it moves when you push in the ebrake. but the ebrake wont move the mechanism inside the hub but the regular brake does?????????

Please be smart enough to put the truck in PARK or block the tires before you crawl under there with a BFH. It could be your cables, but probably the spring inside the drum either mounted wrong or broke. If the park brake is applied you will not get the drum off until you back the brakes off with the star wheel. good luck

NOT to Sound like a dick.....BUT! This guy needs the help of a professional if he does not know what axle the E Bakes are on, OR what to do in a dilemma like this. Best advice is to call a pro before he hurts his truck or worse...... himself.
