In the process of converting manual door locks to power door locks. All was going well until I ran into a big problem. The door ajar switch is located at the bottom of the door latch assembly inside the door however I needed to remove it in order to install the power door lock actuator. The actuator fits right in the slots of the latch assembly as it should to include the pin that moves the lever up and down within the door. The issue though is that the door ajar switch as NO room to fit now. I tried like heck on the other door to install the actuator with the door ajar switch still installed thinking it's just a very tight squeeze but there is flat out no room. I thought I had the wrong actuator but why would it fit perfectly everywhere? The door ajar switch is the original so what gives? Do I need to "modify" the door ajar switches? Meaning: Cut all the plastic off and solder the wires directly? I'm stuck drinking beer thinking about this until I can find answer.
