Default Just installed my new seats

Got some seats out of a '97 Explorer today and bolted them to my '97 Ranger seat tracks and away we go. I never liked the 60/40 bench and the dang arm rest never did stay tight. All I need now is the console from an Explorer and I'm set.

I do have a question though. The old seats always seemed to sit like I was leaning back towards the rear window and the new ones seem like they sit with even more lean. Has anyone taken washers or spacers and put them under the rear seat track bolts? Wouldn't this make the seat sit up a bit straighter? The bolts seem plenty long enough to maybe raise the rear 1/2" or so.

Only being 5'3" doesn't help matters with these short legs.

----------

Because I had to use the old seat tracks I kept the seat belt latches. If I try and put a console from an Explorer in there, am I going to have problems trying to keep the old seat belt latches? The tracks from the new seats were power and don't bolt in to my pan. I was thinking of using one of the shorter consoles from an Explorer that doesn't go all the way to the ash tray.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure. Maybe because they were power seat tracks? The seats bolted right to my old tracks just fine, but the front holes on the angled part of the power tracks didn't quite line up and the rear holes were nearly 3" short. I can tell you the tracks were mostly aluminum but I unbolted them at the pick n pull myself so I would have thought they were original with the Explorer. It's really a bummer because all the motors work and I really wanted the lumbar support. I'm not sure if I want to try and drill new rear holes and then just bolt them in with some stainless steel hardware or just leave them on the old tracks and use on "old lady" pillow for my back.

Ok, just read some more info and it may be because they came out of a 4-door Explorer.

Damn! I just found my answer.

explorer tracks will not bolt into a reg cab ranger of any year. they are a direct bolt in for all ext cabs.

"if you want explorer seats to be pretty much a direct bolt in, you will need a set of 93-7 reg cab ranger seat tracks. you will not be able to use any power options for tracks movement. can still use power lumbars though." (thanks drppdyllwrngr for making my day lmao )

Is there any way to make the power seats work in a '97 standard cab Ranger?

Yeah get some metal and weld to the power tracks that's what I'm doing for my reg cab. Weld some extensions off the backs of the tracks where the factory bolt holes are and go as far as you needs
