Door wiring harness for dome light

Does anyone know where I can find a door wiring harness for the dome light? My truck was hit in a parking lot and the door had to be replaced. After realizing the dome light stopped coming on two weeks later, I ripped the door apart to find the harness was never reinstalled by the body shop.

junkyard or the dealership. i would go for the jy myself.

the harness should be behind the door behind the b pillar panel... at least thats where i see em all the time in the jy when i'm browsing for more parts...

Why not take it back to the body shop and tell them they forgot something...

By the time I realized it was missing they said I couldn't prove it was there to begin with. They'd already gotten rid of the old door. I figured it would be easiest to go to the junkyard but I wanted to see what other options I might have

Now you know what mechanic to NOT use again.

WTF is there to prove? Ford forgot it when they built it?

Exactly. I'm pretty sure they left it out because they couldn't get the dome light to turn off when the door was closed after they painted over the lock. They couldn't figure out the problem and I got screwed. I was really surprised because had done great work on my '67 Mustang in the past.

I have one for a 2000, its probably the same but I'm not 100% sure.

I'd think they were the same. If I remember correctly, the plug is just a little square that goes straight into the lock.

I was thinking about this, i think the harness is part of the speaker harness, and any other power options you have.

It could be part of the speaker harness, but I don't have power locks or windows. All I know for sure is that the passenger side door has the wiring harness in it and the driver side doesn't.

I was able to get the harness from a friend in town. Was able to get the lock out of the door only to find that the piece the harness plugs in to had been trashed. I'm trying to figure out if I can just get a new plug or if I'll have to buy a new latch assembly.

Thats the dome light switch. It will turn 1/4 turn and come out but its hard to turn.
