Default Dog seat build

I have just started building a seat for my Pit boxer so he can ride more comfortably while we're out cruising the mean streets of town. I didn't know if anyone else had done this, this is my first one, or if anyone was interested in seeing the completed seat or details. If anyone is interested I'll start posting pics and how I'm going about it. Just let me know.

I put the arm rest up and our dog sits in the middle between my wife and me and I thought about making her a seat...To answer your question sure I would like to see a post on it...

My white German Shepherd rides very comfortably in my truck...tethered in the bed. Lol. He doesn't fit in the cab

What did you have in mind? There's a lot of cab Nazis here who think it's the worst thing ever to put a dog in the bed...so you'll probably get some interest.

I put the dog in the bed it its 25mph or less tethered, but was thinking about making a board covered in carpet that goes across both jump seat when they are folded down and then moving the seats (driver/passenger) up like 3 inches so my german Shepard, collie, husky has more room

By all means, lets see what you built. I'm trying to come up with an idea that will make my "Mexican Police Dog" more comfortable. She hates the way the seat tilts back toward the rear. It's ok when she's down, but keeps her off balance when she's sitting up and looking around.

Show us your dog styling as well!

I remember a thread about a month ago. A guy made a platform that laid in on top of the jumper seats(with the jumper seats open of course!)

I remember he had an issue with the board tipping occasionally, but I forget what he did to resolve it.

This is what i wanna build, and just make it so it hooks (rear window side) of the jump seat so that it cannot roll or flop up and down an problem solved

Ok, here is where I'm at so far. I tried to write down the measurements, but threw them away because I had to keep changing it as I fabbed it up.
Here's what I started with
[/IMG]
So i took the seat out and took off the mounting bracket.
[/IMG]
I then fabbed up the framework
[/IMG]
from the side
[/IMG]
Next came the base board
[/IMG]
Then I added the memory foam

I am currently looking for some grey or black uphostery cloth to finish it with.

Oh wow! I thought you were going for a behind-the-seat thing. But I guess there's no way any dog, let alone that dog is going behind your seats LoL

Seat is done and Sergeant Major approved! That's a 75lb Pit-Boxer sitting there to give you an idea on the size.

My wife and I are dog lovers and we have three of them, but I don't think even she would suggest pulling out the passenger seat to make a dog bed.

What we did do, however, is bought a Blazer so we could take the dogs places without them having to ride in the back of the truck where it's incredibly hot or cold.
