Default CB Install?

I'm looking to install a CB radio into my 99 ranger. My question is what is the EASIEST way to power this thing? I seen some videos on youtube of people just jamming the wire into a fuse slot. Does this hurt the vehicle at all, or does it just depend on which fuse you use?

Thanks.

If its an empty fuse slot and it has 12 volts u should be alright, i have my cb and police scanner powered off the main line on my fuse box.

I just tapped mine into my cigarette lighter. It was convenient cause it was right there.

you can always make a 12 plug for it, just find an old car charger for something, connect the leads and then plug in when you need it.

What ever you do just do it right Because i half assed some wiring and popped 4 fuses and burnt two wires including my 6gauge to my amp im glad i caught it before it burned my 250$ amp and it burned threw my train horn trigger switch witch started firing off my horns at the red light. Trust me do it right the first time and fuse every thing that has power.

You get more inrerference if you just plug it in the outlets and it looks like shit. I just hard wired mine to the battery and grounded it to the frame. Cant see any wires and A few rf chokes later and zero interference. I still have the outlets to use for other shit.
