Looking to install console, had bench seats

I just pulled the trigger on some sport buckets to replace the 60/40 bench seats in my '05 extended cab. I'm going to need a center console.

The forum doesn't seem to like to let me post pics inline, I have attempted to attach a pic that I shamelessly borrowed from a forum member who posted a classified ad. Here is the link FX4 Console

What I'm looking for is an all black console that was offered in FX4 models.

What I need to know is:

How rare is this particular console? Was it offered in other vehicles? What range of years was it offered?

Do I need to find one specifically out of an ex cab to fit my truck?

Are there any similar consoles I should know about?

What needs to be done to fit a console like this in a truck that had bench seats? Is there a how to guide for this?

I'm thinking about calling a ford specific yard in the area but need to know what im talking about.

Still trying to figure out exactly what I need to track down.

Looking at a grey console to get going with

The ad says its out of a 2000 explorer. It looks pretty much exactly the same as the one I want(but grey). Hoping someone could let me know if the contour of the bottom of this one will fit my ex cab truck.

Also, it doesn't seem to come with any of the lower mounting brackets. I know there is a big aluminum looking one towards the back of the console, not sure what I will need to track down other than that.

I had a similar one in my 94 ranger but I sold that truck years ago. There are 4 bolts that hold the big bracket down, I cant remember if there are supposed to be studs coming up from the floor or what. Will I find indentations in the spots I will need to drill?

The armrest on this one appears to be shorter than the fx4 console. I'm thinking to have it covered in matching material. Would it be swappable if i eventually found the fx4 console I want?

Any help will be seriously appreciated, especially if I can avoid buying stuff that is not compatible.
