2008 Ranger Turn Signal Switch Swap?
So I haven't been able to find much on this for an '08 ranger, but I've heard that the set up is terrible and that some were even recalled. Anyway, recently my high beams would only work if I could find the sweet spot for the switch but now the switch won't turn them on at all so I bought this of amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-SW5581-Turn-Indicator-Switch/dp/B000C5DU46/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351355208&sr=8-1&keywords=sw5581
I don't have a tilt wheel, so am I correct in assuming I won't run into anything tricky (air bag issues or something like that)?
Also if anyone knows of a guide they could point me to, that would be great! Thanks!

Nope... you need to remove the top and bottom shroud of your steering wheel... and you'll need a couple screw drivers and some torx bits. It's a very easy swap once you get the tabs up that hold it on... be careful not to break them. I had to do the same swap earlier this month. 10 mins to un-install. 2 mins to install new one.

Thanks, with all the issues people have with them you'd think they'd expand the recall.

Mine's an '02, and I don't think that switch was my actual problem. It turned out to be my electronic flasher for my LED tails... but i figured I may as well replace the turn signal stalk because the old one was loose anyway.

Re: 2008 Ranger Turn Signal Switch Swap?
hmmm, I think I am correct that mine is the switch. If I push it forward far enough it crackles as though it is making a poor connection and the high beams may flick on momentarily.

unscrew the cover from the bottom, unscrew the 3 bolts holding in the switch, disconnect the 2 plugs, then reverse this to put it back in.
they are cheap right now as there was a recall. i paid 28 for mine.

That's cheap. I couldn't find it less than 65ish on amazon. I had a $25 giftcard there so I figured paying 40 cash wouldn't kill me.
