what if u try painting the light filter where the lights comes through for the needles

I tried that first, the color is too washed out

Got my cluster sanded and painted



Still have to sand and paint a little more to even out the color

I tried coloring my white needles awhile back; I colored the entire backside and it looked like shit.

That's the stock ones in the pic. I just stuck it all to gether and threw it in to see what it looked like. My LEDs just came in the mail today I'm hoping to get it all done tomorrow

Cool. Do you know about the plastic tab inside the cluster that blocks light and causes the cold spot around the "40"?
I opened up my cluster and chopped that tab with a dremel and it really helped to reduce that cold spot.

Heres a pic of the tab after I chopped it and put the cluster back together

I didn't know that caused a cold spot. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know what pins on the back are for the illuminaion and and ground. Im looking for a way to power them up with out sticking them in the truck

If nobody posts which ones, i dont see why you couldn't find out by looking at the wires coming off of the dimmer roller. Idk if you could just go by color or not but its possible. Id be interested to know myself. Ill look in my ranger parts and diagram book later.

I wish I did, that would've saved me alot of time. I put my cluser back in and turned the garage lights off about 20 times lol
