Default installing a full exo console in a 94 stick shift keeping the factory ash tray.

Started with the write up on how to install the console, but it was for the newer dash style. Mine the 94 has the boxier dash and the console from the 96 expo did not line up quite as nice, i also did want to keep my ash tray.

-- ended up cutting the console,

and creating my own peace around the shifter, the boot is not installed yet but it is from an Audi. Nice leather. Will update as the build continues.

I used bed-liner on the wood matches the new vinyl floor.

used the new space for installing my toy,

and all the wiring for the accessories i have and will ad. Ran a 6 gauge wire with inline fuse to the extra panels.

flipped over the tissue holder and drilled holes for a power switch and a momentary switch for my air horn (100 watt speaker hidden behind grill)

Also hidden by the console is the control for my strobe lights that are installed. more to come. hopefully have it done soon.
Along with the full console are full power seats from the 96 expo, they are powered though the same fuse panel.

Got it all in ..... tel me what you think,

side view of my the part i built. Still can use the power outlet

hidden switch for the pa/air horn system. With a momentary button for the air horn

shot from drivers side, the shift boot will need to be re-done... staples did not keep it in after a week of driving

another shot

close up of my line of switches, will be hidden if you pull out the ash tray.

The wood grain dash i found out of a 88 ranger looks great, i love wood grain in a vehicle, and i have not seen it used much in the rangers, it came with a cubby below the headlight

think it turned out well, love the wood grain, but i will have to adjust the shift boot.

comments welcome. it took a while to get it all together, all the write ups i found where form a 96 and newer and the dashes are different. Also when the cab was empty i put in the black vinyl floor to replace the carpet as well as full power exploder seats

I wouldn't have bedlined the part around the shifter.. looks like shit.

The rest of it looks alright.

Fiber glass would look 100% better if done correctly. Instead of coming out around the center console, make it look like its apart of the console. Make sense?

Like it looks like a peice of wood bedlined and just laid on there. You don't want that. You want a nice clean look. Not a "hey, look at my half assed center console."

Just think about it, draw up some ideas and do some mock ups. You will get the look you want

yea no i agree 100% with you this is version 1.5. I think i am gonna take the ford plastic part cut it... and put wood in, then fiberglass it. i needed somthing to get by for now so i could drive it, posted this to get ideas due to the fact i have not found anyone else who has attempted this in the way i am.

thanks for your input. always looking for more!

I ike the bed liner idea around the shifter but it looks like you used the stuff that you apply by rolling or brushing it on. Hate to say it but it does look like shit. If you want a good, clean bedliner look I would recommend using the stuff in a spray can. Goes on uniform and durable enough to last. I used it on my fender flares and love it.

The rest looks hella good though. The fuse center is a great idea.

Oh and the wood grain trim looks awesome. Wish I could o something like that for my 04
