Thanks. I don't like those mounting brackets. I was reading an article the other day that was saying that dual antennas can do more harm than good, so I'll just stick with one. It would look great, though haha.

I meant that there are supposedly problems with running two antennas from the CB. You have one running to the radio and one to the CB radio, so you're good.

My new Midland, 1001LWX installation:

Customized stock AM/FM antenna mount to accept a 3/8"-24 stud mount:

Firestik, 3-foot FireFly antenna:

I just moved the mic holder up to the dashboard. Too easy to accidentally hit the PTT bar with right leg when mounted on the console.

I made a plate to mount under the head liner and then just put the cb bracket straight to that plate. Then I had to make a couple little peices to lower the cb radio away from the roof because it is so tight against the top. When put the cb bracket to the plate under the head liner i just cut two little slits in the head liner instead of cutting out a huge chunk.

Thumbs up Re: Does anyone have a CB radio in their truck?

I had taken that little "Cubbie" that came with the mounting kit for the stereo, and cut the top & bottom out of it so that the CB would fit. Then I drilled the sides of the Cubbie, to position the Radio closer to flush, and bolted the radio into it. I then, bolted that assembly into the adapters/mounts in the Ranger's bezel.

I've not wired it in yet, so when I do, I'll take some pics to show how I mounted it.
Hell, I'm somewhat bored and it's only 10 degrees out side, I think I'll just go out .....

Nawwww done talked myself out of that! LOL

I'm still looking for the connectors I want to use to wire it in. I know what I want, so I really don't need "Advice" on running wires. It's personal preference, and I am not a fan of T-splices, spade connectors and the like.
I want to Epoxy the pieces I used to fill the front in with, smooth it out & paint it, to get rid of the Gorilla tape face, and dress it up a bit better.

Looks like there's a shifter boot just under the radio.
Maybe shortened the legs on the bracket to move it in closer?
Just my guess.
But then...
That was posted 22 days short on 4 years ago too

I have mine mounted in the same spot. I made a plate that bolts to where the ashtray usually goes. Then I flipped the CB bracket around and bolted that to the plate.

But now I'm swapping to a 5-speed, so I'm worried about the clearance. However, after seeing that, I'm just gonna leave my CB as-is until I can run the shifter through 1st and 3rd and see if it hits the CB.
