I use Firestik as well. Seems to work fine.

Here is my setup/install.

I dont have a CB yet, got the antenna for one, came wit the truck.. I also plan to get a new ham radio for it.. my old one broke a while back jus needa save up.. I plan to cut out a section of the dashboard and put the radio there, and screw a metal rail into the dash and rest the radio on that.. if that makes sense.. Or another idea i had was to mount it above the heater vent/radio/temp controls.. Dont know but space is limited in my truck for mounting it, within comfort zone.. Id hate to mount it on the ceiling and have to lean up to look at it

After I installed my CB and only hearing Spanish and jibberish talk, I have considered getting a ham radio eventually. Are there enough people on it to make it worth while to install/buy?

I use a 3' Firestik. Perfect height for my truck. I originally wanted to mount two, but I didn't want the other one to be a dummy, so I decided to only use one.

Yeah I knew about the license. I have heard it is easy to get. I don't know how much it would cost thought to put such a system in my truck.

Cobra 18 mounted in dash. This is in my Super Duty, but I'm doing the same in my '95 Ranger.
