Hey guys I was looking into painting my radio bezel. I was reading that you have to tape up the 12 volt and cigarette lighter. I took my bezel out and was looking at them. Both of them have a silver case over them. I was looking at the cigarette one and noticed there was threads at the top by the ground. So I twisted it to the left and it screwed right off and the cigarette lighter fell right out. The 12 volt one is the same way. There is no glue or anything holding mine in after I twised off the ground caps.

I have a 99 Ranger standard cab.

My 03 is the same way. A little tough to get them started, but just stick your thumb in the socket & pinch, while turning the back part.
I hate taping crap off to paint LoL! I'd much rather do a full disassembly than tape anything off.

I am the same way. I hate to tape something like this. I want everything to be perfect on it.
