Hey guys, I've got a 97 Ranger Rebel and want to upgrade the seats to newer style seats. Do the Rangers all interchange, or is it possible to go with 2 newer bucket seats, say 2 drivers side seats instead of the 60/40 split. Any info appreciated!

You dont have to get two driver seats to get buckets you can use 1998-2001 explorer buckets and you being a 97 i think there are some mustang seats that will swap into your year model but im not to sure on that.

Seats that fit in the Ranger

anything on that list will bolt to your tracks, assuming you have buckets or a 60/40 currently. if you have a reg cab with a solid bench, then you will need to find some 93-7 reg cabs 60/40 or bucket seat tracks, then anything on the list will work.

as for newer ranger seats, they have to be from the same type of cab. ext cab and reg cab seat tracks are different lengths. ext cab tracks will not work in a reg cab.

Are the cab styles the same?

If so, the biggest issue you'll have is mounting the 2002 seat buckles to the 98/99 seats (driver and passenger sides) in order to keep your airbags.

I have a basic '02 XL with vinyl 60/40 seats.

I want to remove cloth bucket seats with flip down arm console from a '98 regular cab XLT.

Is this a simple take out/bolt in job as far as seats are concerned? Any modifications with this job?

As long as both are Regular cabs, the seats will bolt in, the biggest mod you need to do is switching your buckles from the 02 seat to the 98 seats... unless you don't like airbags and safety.
