Neat idea....but why? I thought the point of a dome light is to be able to see inside the truck at night? Works for you...you're the first I've seen do it to a dome light. Neat...but I guess I don't get it. lol.

I know what you're thinking Bill.... Go check out late 90's lincolns. I know for sure '98 Continentals have dimming domes. I too have been thinking about doing that mod. Just gotta figure out how! lol.

there was a kid in my neighborhood who had something like that hooked up to his taillights on his s-dime and thought it was cool till my stepbrother drove his snowplow into his bed one night,

it works great if your driving at nite and your gf/fiance in my case needs to put there face on and need some light cause its not blinding its just enough for her to see what shes doin and just enough for me to still be able to see out the windshield with out the glare. or you are out in the woods and need to stay outta sight and you need the dome light on its very hard to see what is going on in the truck

You should look into the Explorer visor swap. They've got lighted mirrors on the inside and they're like double visors. Meaning you can have a visor on the side window AND in front of you. Might be something to take a look into.

And they're somewhat plentiful and most of the ones you'll find are the light grey of your headliner already. For people like me that have dark grey headliner, they're kind of a pain in the butt to find in dark grey. So much of a pain in the butt, I've never seen a set in person....and I'm a regualar everyday junkyard hunter! lol.
