I like that. What are these scan guages? I need something for my truck cause my mph guage is way off and would like for something that is accurate. What's the advantages to them?

How did you mount it like that? They are pretty cool it's an inboard computer pretty much and u love how you have it in the ash tray. I don't need the ash tray and would love to put it there. My truck is a 967 though. And yours is newer so idk how different it is size wise

To mount gauge as is, remove the black trim piece from the dash / very carefully file or sand away the trim piece so that the gauge fits. A fair bit of material must be removed from the housing but it took only an hour or so.

Route the obdII cable under the dash and reassemble. The gauge is very useful. I monitor instantaneous mileage l/100km for us Canadians. Average mileage, coolant temp and battery voltage. This provides me with easy troubleshooting while driving. I know when engine is up to temp ( normal 195 degrees ) and that my alternator output is normal at 13.8VDC.

I believe the dimensions of the gauge can be found on the manufacturer website. Follow the link below:

I don't have any close ups available, but it's on my dash in the upper left corner easily visible while driving (don't have to take eyes off the road to look down).

Mine currently reads:

-Intake Air Temp
-Coolant Temp
-Transmission Fluid Temp
-Voltage

Do these scan guages show the same mph as the cluster? And do they actually show your mpg and everything?

Can you post a pic of the piece he's talking about before you cut it up? My truck has an ashtray and I'm not sure how it would mount there.

And would that piece be interchangeable with a 97 it looks like a newer thing for new rangers. Mine isn't new but I love where it's mounted.

Yes....it has 20 or so preset readings and the book it comes with allows for a multitude of other readings (as long as the ECU is able to provide them).

How did you fasten it to the trim piece or did you just wedge it in?

To secure the gauge within the trim piece I trimmed the hole for a tight fit and jammed it in there with some double sided tape for good measure. I have no intention of removing it often but could wrestle it out if I really needed. It has never fallen out with this mounting method.

Compatibility with your truck is up to you to determine.

Good luck.
