I would like mine mounted in the upper corner of the driver side window I'm sure you could make something to mount it that way

Plugs right in to the ODBII port. You can get them for like 140 - 150 if yu shop around, maybe less if you find a used one.

my fav place to mount it is if you have an aftermarket head unit and fill the empty slot with the plastic and mount the gauge there.. I'll try dig up some pics of this from my subaru...

this was the mounting plate:

and it had 2 tabs on the back that I just glued into that plastic slot under my head unit. Very clean look

to be completely honest, I had 2 of them, as one cracked, and i don't remember if that one is painted aluminum, or if it's the one I cut out from an old fridge I was throwing out... cuz the fridge had a texture similar to that of my subaru interior and I just painted it black... either way it's painted metal

Just finished my scangauge mount this afternoon. 2011 Ranger Sport Supercab 4.0 4x4...

I used 22gauge galvanized sheet metal. You can see the paper template i used to fit it. Grey paint.

Here's where/how it fits behind the radio valence.

I used some electrical tape 'flags' to hold the wire against the valence. Along with the velcro mount to the bracket, i can easily remove the unit to perhaps help out my buddies if they get codes on their trucks while we're off in the boonies...

Why dont you just run the wire behind the bezel and under the dash?

Yes, would look much better but I want to be able to easily remove to use as a scanner in other vehicles (and dont want to bother carrying a spare cable).

I've got mine down low on the center console... removed the console and drilled a hole for the wire to use the back plug on the gauge and covered the side with black tape for looks. Ran the wire behind the dash to the console so clean with no visible wires. Extra wire is inside the console and the gauge is velcro mounted so I can take it in my hand for programming x-gauges ect...

Radio spot mount looks pretty clean but I've got the stock radio and if I change it'll prob be double din screen.
