Well we all know that rangers dont have puddle lights. At least mine doesnt and.most I've seen do not. I recently installed some on my truck. I tapped them into the dome light. Ran a wire down the headliner, down the A-frame, inside the door and out the slit at the bottom of door, which connects to my 24 led light strip. Here are some pics. And I'm going to do a how to for those who don't have power doors. Its very easy, just a little time consuming.

The light is decently bright. Definately gets the job done. Ill have to grab some.pic of it in day so you can see the light and wiring.

that is for people with power doors. his would be for people that dont have power doors.

It has nothing to do with power doors all it does is instead of hooking up to the dome light it hooks up to the door switch that turns the dome on

Oh yours works for non power doors also? I didn't know if it work cos the only wires in the door is speaker wires. There was no other wires to tap into.

It should it ties into the door switch and 12 volts from somewhere but i could be wrong

I think either thread works for either truck (power or no power doors). It seems the only difference is where the door switch wire is tapped. You tapped at the dome itself, and the other thread tells you which wire in the door itself. Power doors only comes into play where you get your 12v constant. I follwed the other thread when I did this mod and tapped into my power mirrors for 12v on my driver door but ended up using my radio for the passenger door lol
However you do it, its a nice mod. Any problem with the lights coming back on after some time even when the doors are closed and locked?

edit: crap just realized this is from june. I was just paging through looking for inspiration on interior stuff and didn't think about what page I was on. Sorry everyone haha

No none at all. Because its tapped into the same wires as the dome it only comes on with the dome light.

Dang .. I'm tapped into the switch wire in my door and when I test with a meter i get 12v door opened and 0v door closed. When I shut my door my light goes off but after a few hours it lights up very dimly and I don't know why. Relocking the doors shuts it off again
