I saw this in my local auto zone and was very skeptical about trying it, my father owned a window treatment company for 20 years installing draperies, blinds and such. so i've been around all kinds of fabric for many years, and i was very doubtful that a spray paint could work on carpet. but i decided to try it out in a discrete location to see how it works. Now, i have seen a few threads about similar products and i experienced some of the same issues they had, mainly the paint drying to a hard finish and becoming rough to the touch. i found out while using a gas station vacuum that rubbing it pretty roughly after it has dried made it much softer and didn't effect the color to any noticeable degree, and got the carpet back to an acceptable softness for me. key to this stuff is prep work, give it a good deep vacuuming and cleaning a couple days before applying the paint. now for some pics:
the can itself. Rust-oleum Fabric & Vinyl Charcoal with a satin finish
Started off behind the seats
It looks blotchy in the pics, but looks much more evenly colored in person
Color difference, new on the left, old on the right
NOTE: I SHOULD MENTION THAT I'M ONLY DOING THIS ON THE CARPET NOT THE SEATS, I'M GOING TO SAVE FOR SOME GOOD SEAT COVERS FOR THEM. WITH THIS PAINT DRYING TO A SOMEWHAT HARD FINISH I DON'T THINK IT WILL BE GOOD ON SEATS, BUT CARPET WILL BE FINE
