Default Instrument Cluster Needle Removing

I have a 1999 Ranger and I am taking the instrument cluster apart to put LED strips behind it and I need to take the needles off to be able to scrape the green off and get the lights in.

I have seen some body use a kitchen fork and pry up gently.

As earlier stated, the fork works well. I've done this many times cuz i've been having some difficulty with my gauge. But i've used my fingers everytime. Its a bit tough to do, but i just felt more comfortable using my fingers.

I agree. Either using a fork or what I used was a butter knife. Worked wonders!

I use a flat head screw driver. Just hold the needle with one hand, and pry up on the other side carefully. Like stated, drive down the road with a GPS to make sure your speed is correct. I had to pull my cluster a few days later to fix mine. Also, when pressing them back on, don't push them as far down as they will go. I had an issue with mine sticking and then jumping/falling as my speed fluctuated.
